Niobium features many of the characteristics of precious metals. It is rare, difficult to refine and hypoallergenic - and its raw material price is above silver. You might call it a "semiprecious" metal. It is safe to wear for even those most sensitive to metal allergies. In fact, there has not been a documented case of an allergic reaction to this metal due to its presence in pierced ears or contemporary body piercing. Anodizing niobium produces a thin, transparent oxide film on the surface that generates intense, saturated colors. The colors are essentially a patina-an oxide of niobium-and should be treated as such, with abrasion kept to a minimum. Unlike other patinas, niobium oxides are chemically stable, resistant to changes due to body chemistry and will not change over time.

bright sterling silver: tarnish can be removed with a soft silver polishing cloth. maintain luster by periodically washing in warm soapy water and drying with a soft cloth.

gemstones: use of commercial cleaners on any gemstones is not recommended. avoiding excessive exposure to the sun and heat will help to maintain the color and luster of gemstones.
